Learn MoreFrance stands as one of the most critical logistics hubs in Europe, driven by its strategic geographical location connecting Northern Europe with the Mediterranean. From the massive logistics parks in the Île-de-France region to the busy maritime gateways of Marseille and Le Havre, and the industrial centers of Lyon and Toulouse, material handling equipment is the backbone of the French economy. Among the various material handling systems, the short pallet jack (often referred to as transpalette court in France) has emerged as an indispensable tool for optimization.
Unlike standard warehouse environments that utilize standard 1150 mm forks, French commercial and urban distribution channels present unique spatial challenges. Historic city centers in Paris, Bordeaux, and Lyon feature narrow streets, historic buildings with restricted doorways, and tight storage rooms. Furthermore, the retail sector in France, dominated by major players like Carrefour, Auchan, and Leclerc, has seen a significant shift toward local convenience stores (supermarchés de proximité) such as Monoprix, Franprix, and Carrefour Express. Operating standard-sized material handling equipment in these environments is practically impossible. This is where OEM short pallet jacks, with fork lengths ranging from 800 mm to 1000 mm, provide the perfect compromise between load capacity and maneuverability.
One of the primary localized application scenarios for short pallet jacks in France is tail-lift delivery. Delivery trucks navigating the busy streets of Paris must unload goods quickly on pedestrian sidewalks. A short pallet jack allows delivery drivers to maneuver easily inside the cramped cargo space of a box truck, fit multiple units onto a hydraulic tail-lift, and navigate narrow shop entrances without damaging goods or property.
The material handling sector in France is undergoing rapid transformation, driven by technological advancements, environmental regulations, and a strong focus on occupational health and safety. Five major trends define the current market:
As a professional warehouse equipment manufacturer, Ningbo Staxx Material Handling Equipment Co., Ltd. is uniquely positioned to serve the French market. By offering robust OEM and ODM services, we enable French dealers, distributors, and large enterprise accounts to acquire short pallet jacks that meet local safety standards (CE certification) and specific operational requirements. Our engineering team designs custom-length forks, low-profile chassis for European low-clearance pallets, and advanced electronic control systems. Through years of research and development, Staxx has created a complete supply chain system that ensures reliable delivery times, high-quality components, and comprehensive after-sales support for our partners across France.
Ningbo Staxx Material Handling Equipment Co., Ltd. is a professional warehouse equipment company. Since the reorganization of the company in 2012, Staxx has officially entered the sector of manufacturing and distributing warehouse equipment. Our main product range contains material handling equipment, electric stackers, electric pallet trucks, hand pallet trucks, and lifting equipment.
Based on our self-owned factory, proprietary technology, and advanced management system, Staxx has formed a complete supplier system and created a one-stop supply platform, serving over 500 dealers at home and abroad, including key logistics networks across France and Europe.
Why French logistics providers and B2B distributors trust Staxx for their material handling fleets.
The core technology of electric warehouse trucks is the power unit, including the motor/transmission, controller, and battery. Staxx has the ability to independently design, develop, and produce core parts, and took the lead in developing 48V brushless drive technology. This technology has been tested and certified by TÜV Rheinland in a single test, ensuring compliance with strict European safety norms.
To offer products that end-users love, Staxx deeply understands the actual needs of operators in the field. Through innovative thinking, we constantly improve the functionality and comfort of our products. We have acquired over 10 patents, including our intelligent diagnostic handle, the moonwalk narrow aisle solution, and remote control systems.
Quality excellence is the result of strict, intensive testing and inspection, performed by over 12 units of individual and self-designed automatic inspection devices. This meticulous testing and inspection system offers our partners in France and worldwide complete quality assurance.
The partnership between clients and Staxx can be fully customized. We tailor our support, including marketing strategies and after-sales service, to meet the specific business models and demands of our distribution partners.
“Make your job easier” - This is the core understanding of products, cooperation, and service throughout the company. Compact size, light service weight, and powerful performance designed to meet modern logistics demands.
As a new branch of the light-duty pallet truck tier, the Staxx lithium battery pallet jack was made for the call of the times. We used to operate hand pallet trucks that had a capacity of 2500 kg, but two adults can hardly push or pull them safely when fully loaded. A daily load of more than 500kg and an operating time longer than 3 hours could be harmful to the operator’s health in the long term, potentially causing severe musculoskeletal injuries.
But now, with our lithium battery pallet jack, a single operator can move 2500 kg of goods easily without any harmful physical strain. This is a game-changer for logistics hubs across France, where safety regulations like those from the INRS are highly enforced.
Some customers diverted their attention to 1500 kg pallet trucks with AGM batteries starting in 2013. It was a revolutionary product that created a new market segmentation - liberating people from heavy daily work at an affordable price and in a compact size. However, the complicated maintenance requirements of AGM batteries and their relatively high long-term cost limited their potential in heavy-duty applications. Today, the Staxx lithium ion pallet jack solves this dilemma by offering upright driving capabilities for narrow aisles, simple maintenance, and an overall lower total cost of ownership.
Lithium battery technology is not new to us, from cellphone batteries in the first decade to massive applications in electric vehicles over the last ten years. The fast-growing electric car market has accelerated technical advancements in lithium batteries, especially regarding safety, BMS (Battery Management Systems), and energy density. In our industry, the massive use of lithium batteries has revolutionized warehouse operations.
Compared to traditional lead-acid or AGM batteries, lithium batteries do not have a memory effect. Therefore, you may charge the lithium pallet jack at any time and use the truck immediately. Meanwhile, the battery is designed for quick and easy replacement, making multi-shift operations possible with two batteries. It is also more environmentally friendly, aligning with European green regulations, and offers higher energy densities for prolonged shifts.
Lithium-ion batteries operate with an efficiency of up to 95%, meaning nearly all the energy stored is converted into usable power for the motor. In contrast, lead-acid batteries hover around 80-85% efficiency. Since they do not contain toxic heavy metals like lead or acid, they do not produce gas during charging, making them the ideal choice for French pharmaceutical and food processing warehouses where hygiene is paramount.
